Like many others, I need to keep the sun off my arms to the extent possible, but don't like applying sunblock. Even when I slop it on extra think, I still feel like I have gotten too much sun after a long ride. This jersey does the job of keeping the sun off, plus it uses a very light weight fabric to keep things cool.Is wearing this jersey warmer than bare arms with sunblock? I find it hard to say. I took a ride last week while in the Palm Springs area - day's high was 107 degrees. So, it was hot without a doubt. Hotter than bare arms? I'd say no - as long as I was moving it felt plenty comfortable. I noticed it more when I stopped - that's when it seemed to be hotter. It was like 20% humidity so evaporative cooling was working pretty well.I'd say that if you live in a hot, humid climate and do a lot of slow speed hill climbing, you may not like this jersey so much. In hot but drier climates, riding at speed (or upwind), this jersey may work well for you.
